Another 15 drug arrests in North Carolina investigation

An ongoing multi-state drug case in North Carolina recently entered a second wave of action. According to a new indictment unsealed on Aug. 20 in Salisbury, 15 more people were arrested in connection to "Operation: Twisted Cross." The arrests were executed through a combined effort of local, state and federal agencies. The U.S. Attorney who announced the arrests did not reveal where they took place but indicated that the drug activity involved centered in North Carolina.

North Carolina man convicted on drug charges

A North Carolina man was convicted on federal drug charges in August. He had been accused of involvement in a drug trafficking organization based in Garland. Federal officials alleged that the drug activity in the town undermined its quality of life and have pursued a number of related cases. With the 33-year-old man's conviction, federal prosecutors have convicted 25 people in the ongoing cases.

Man sentenced to 4 years after pleading guilty to drug charges

On Aug. 3, it was reported that a North Carolina man who was convicted on drug and gun charged was sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison. The 20-year-old man was charged in connection with a high-speed chase involving police and a drug bust that occurred in 2017.
