Breathalyzer machines are not infallible

If a driver in North Carolina is believed to be impaired by alcohol, a Breathalyzer test may be conducted. While this test is considered to be highly accurate, it is possible that the result could be incorrect in certain cases. Man sentenced to 32 years for bank fraud scheme

On July 10, it was reported that a North Carolina man was convicted of being involved in an elaborate bank fraud scheme in which he reportedly pocketed approximately $1.6 million. The 31-year-old Greensboro man was sentenced on July 9 to 32 years in prison and five years of supervised release.

Rocky Mount man headed to prison after firearms conviction

The recent conviction of a 27-year-old man from Rocky Mount on a firearms charge related to a shooting and pistol-whipping assault arose from the Take Back North Carolina Initiative. This initiative has assigned regional federal prosecutors throughout the state to increase the prosecution of violent crimes. The prosecutors have supported the mission of Project Safe Neighborhoods, which coordinates the efforts of law enforcement agencies in the pursuit of violent criminals.

Rapper facing drug charges

Many people in North Carolina are fans of rapper Jim Jones, the co-founder of Dipset and the star of "Love & Hip-Hop: New York". He was arrested on June 20, 2018, and faces gun and drug possession charges after a brief pursuit by police prior to a traffic stop. The 41-year-old performer is accused of receiving stolen property, possession of narcotics, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of dangerous drugs to be kept in their original container.

Multiple drug charges aimed at North Carolina man

A 51-year-old man and known member of the Pagan's East Coast motorcycle club remains in jail under a $2 million bond after being charged on June 18. A news release from the Onslow County Sheriff's Office described the raid on the man's home in Midway Park that produced 214.6 grams of crystal methamphetamine, a level two trafficking amount.
