2 men facing charges after alleged meth lab discovered

On April 27, it was reported that two North Carolina men were taken into custody after they were accused of cooking meth. The men were identified as two 23-year-old Richlands men.

Authorities said that North Carolina Adult Probation members went to a residence on Nine Mile Road to conduct a probation visit. However, it was noticed that there were heavy fumes coming from the home, so the Nine Mile Fire Department was called in to help decontaminate the men. This decontamination process reportedly helps remove harmful and dangerous chemicals from the men's clothing and skin. The fumes were an indication that there was a meth lab inside the residence.

At this time, detectives from the Sheriff's Drug Enforcement Unit seized the alleged meth lab. The lab was processed by members of the State Bureau of Investigation Meth Lab Response Team.

One man was already on active probation after being convicted on a meth possession charge. He was charged with several felonies, including for manufacture of methamphetamine. The other man was also facing a number of felonies associated with possession and manufacturer of methamphetamine. Both were being held on $230,000 bond. Both were scheduled to appear in court on May 17.

When a person is facing felony drug charges and the consequences that could potentially result if he or she is convicted, there are several options that may be available based on the circumstances surrounding the case. For example, if authorities made mistakes during the investigation, a drug charges criminal defense lawyer may seek to suppress some or all of the evidence. The attorney may also represent the accused person during the trial by introducing doubt about the person's involvement. Finally, the consequences of a drug conviction may also be mitigated by negotiating a plea deal with the prosecution.
